Proxmox VE 8.0 (beta) released!

Good day,
I tried to install the proxmox8-BETA1 as a test. It worked fine so far, but the system doesn't boot after all, with the message:
... Error preparing initrd: Device Error

I installed it on a DELL R415
* 2x6 cores 2,6GHz
* 32GB RAM
* 4x1TB SeagateHD as ZFS-RAID10 at LSI SAS1068E-IT

It is booted via UEFI. The boot line is:
root=ZFS=rpool/ROOT/pve-1 boot=zfs

If I boot the system from a Debian USB including ZFS tools, I can import the zpool and the status is also OK.
By the way, I installed a proxmox7.4.1 for comparison - it boots.
But the pve7to8 upgrade didn't work: "...are you sure you want to remove proxmox-pve completely...."
I didn't get any further than that.
What information is still needed to find the cause of the boot error?

habe testweise versucht, die proxmox8-BETA1 zu installieren. Hat soweit gut funktioniert, aber das System bootet dann doch nicht, mit der Meldung:

Error preparing initrd: Device Error

Installiert habe ich auf einem DELL R415

Es wird per UEFI gebootet. Die Bootzeile lautet:

Übrigens habe ich zum Vergleich ein proxmox7.4.1 installiert - das bootet.
Aber das Upgrade pve7to8 klappte leider nicht: "... sind Sie sicher, daß Sie proxmox-pve vollständig entfernen wollen ...."
Weiter bin ich erst mal nicht gekommen.
Welche Informationen werden noch gebraucht, um die Ursache des Bootfehlers zu finden ?

Der fehler ist mir so noch nicht untergekommen - aber um es potentiell etwas weiter einzuengen:
* nochmals die 8.0-beta iso versuchen zu installieren (im debug mode - da ein Auge darauf haben ob es warnings/errors gibt in den diversesten debug-shells
* wenn es damit auch nicht funktioniert - eine live-cd booten, und das output von lsblk posten
* die ESPs mounten (das sind jeweils die 2. Partitionen auf allen disken, die <= 1GB size haben) und den content mit `find /path/to/mountpoint` ausgeben
* währenddessen schauen, ob es Meldungen im journal gibt.

Boot in debug mode hangs at:

after that nothing to do - only reboot
If machine boots in BIOS mode ... installation OK and it boots from ZFS-RAID10

As said - please open a separate thread for this (also this is the German subforum - if possible write in German or open the thread in the fitting English forum)

The contents of the ESP look ok (although the Dell specific stuff is not put there by the PVE installer - so I guess you did modify it somehow afterwards?)

else - make sure you have the latest available BIOS/Firmware installed for all components of the system.
