Hallo,

all my VM's have no internet and can't ping 8.8.8.8 for example.
It says network unreachable.

I let them assign an ip by dhcp-Server. (the dhcp server is part of a domain...)
They get an IP successfully and a "route -n" on the vm's shows that the gateway is my dhcp which is wrong.

Can I somehow force a default global gateway for the VM's?
Because if i add a default gw in the respective vm in their shell, i am able to access the internet and ping 8.8.8.8.

Attached is a picture of the proxmox "etc/network/interfaces"

Thanks in advance.

edit: I can see the registered IP on the DHCP. So the VM gets a lease.

edit2: My Opensuse was unable to connect to the internet during install, but after that it connected successfully.
When i run ip route show i get the following output:
(see image outputSuse.jpg)

I don't understand the 192.168.153.0/24 ip range (via 192.168.178.202 is the DHCP). Where does that come from?
via 192.168.178.1 is correct and thats why the internet works.

Can someone explain to me where this 153 range comes from?
Sorry for the multiple edits...

Either your dhcp is misconfigured or the addresses are defined manually. There are not so much other possibilities ...

Thanks for the reply... Weird...

The bridge in proxmox could not be the culprit here?
Am I right that the outputsuse.jpg basically means that any request goes through 192.168.178.1 except for when I want to go to an address on 192.168.153.0/24 then it goes via the dhcp server 192.168.178.202?

Im really confused where this 153 comes from...

The bridge is basically a switch, that won't transport any address information. I can't tell you where the other subnet comes from. :)
Did you assign a second network card and set a static address? Or maybe run a VLAN over the wire?

hah.
I can mark this as solved...
My DHCP-Server had a static route, whoever set this up...

Its weird that some vms dont have internet because of that route though...

Thanks for the help. :)
