Proxmox VE 6.0 connecting every 10 seconds to cifs share

When i add CIFS Type Storage to Proxmox 6.0 the shared folder is accessed / connection established every 10 seconds. This is kind of spam in synology log-center.
Anybody knows how to limit access or connection frequency ?

Proxmox reads some information about remote storages every 10 seconds in order to keep the information up to date. This cannot be changed or adjusted.

Is there any reason why Proxmox must close and reopen the CIFS session every single time though? If the session was persistent we would see less spam in the NAS logs.

If this is only used for capacity calculations for the GUI graphing, a 10 second interval does seem excessive and an adjustable value would be useful.

Any Updates on this? It's really annoying that Promox opens and closes a new session every 10 seconds.

You could use a hook-script as a workaround that automatically enables your CIFS storage before doing a backup and disables it after the backup is finished. A disabled CIFS storage won't be polled.
