I'm running 5.1-46 on a DL380 Gen 6 but I'm only able to get 100Mb/s out of the NIC.

dmesg shows:

[ 2.046563] bnx2: QLogic bnx2 Gigabit Ethernet Driver v2.2.6 (January 29, 2014)

But I don't know why it's not autonegotiating to 1000Mb/s (which is what the switch port is set to).

Anyone have any suggestions on how to force the link to 1000Mb/s? Unfortunately, I'm remote from the box so I'm hesitant to do anything that would take it off the network and render me unable to get back in to fix any mistakes.

Thanks.

We run 3 of those machines perfectly at 1000 MBit, so the machine is capable of running at that speed. The problem to change it is ethtool, but if you force it to 1000 MBit and you have some switch or cable problem, you will loose that port after forcing the speed. Have you configured bonding and can use the other port to play around? If not, wait until you are not remote anymore and try to fix it then.

If your switch is smart enough you can set the port to advertise only 1000 Mb/s.
