Last week we have been struggling to upgrade our Proxmox node from 4.4 to 5.1, and everything going fine except for multipath. In our case we have boot device on multipath, and after upgrade multipath won't do its work, /dev/mapper/pve-root not created by multipath. Instead, lvm tries to mount volumes directly from /dev/sdX, but if there's two identical devices, it fails too. If we disconnect one path, then lvm use other path and system start up succesfuly, but lvm using /dev/sda instead of multipath device.
Can someone confirm succesful upgrade from Proxmox VE 4.4 to the latest version with multipath boot working? Or even installation Proxmox VE 5.1 from scratch with multipath boot (we tried that too with no success). Is it even possible?
