Why does mounting the NFS fail? You NFS server is up and running?

Re: Proxmox VE 1.5 released

never mind it couldn't find the NFS server with the ISO images on it.

Re: Proxmox VE 1.5 released

can proxmox 1.5 join a 1.4 cluster? like 1.2 with 1.3 ?

thanks!

thanks!

mixing versions in a cluster is not supported.

using several 1.5 running different kernels is supported.

Re: Proxmox VE 1.5 released

Hi,

Is there anywhere on the wiki where I can read more about the differences in the kernel version, so that I can make a better decision around which kernel I should install?

Thanks.

Re: Proxmox VE 1.5 released

Thank you! The new version have all I wanted! I hope I can get the windows servers on kvm to run more stable with the new version. Have experienced some unstability with the network performance and also issues with the guest clock.

Looking forward to the next release. Hope user and firewall handling will be included soon. If you need some translation support I can help translate it into norwegian.

Re: Proxmox VE 1.5 released

Hi guys

Just to check

I got the proxmox-ve_1.5-4627.iso (MD5: d2806eb857f96f3fda1d73173860503e) in 20/01 via BT and tried to install in 2 servers, IBM X3650 and X3400 (both ran previous versions 1.[234] ok) - in both installer says "No Hard Disk found".

Booting with "vga=normal", i can see the raid module loaded (aacraid on x3650 - i forgot which on x3400 :)) and disks (/dev/sd[ab]). Boot with noapic/noacpi cheatcodes don't help.

I saw now on download wiki page the same ISO, but with different MD5 (9933270f21eebdd1fb8d2bdd2085d059) - this is a fix to that problem i related?

the replaced ISO uses now [FONT=&quot] UUID= for the boot device, so I do not think that is related.[/FONT]

Re: Proxmox VE 1.5 released

@Tom

Strange...

I'm burning the new iso just now - let's see what happens...

PS: Some clue about that?

Please can you boot typing 'debug' at the boot prompt - this will give you a shell a various places - simple press CTRL-D to continue the installer. After the installer show the error, press abort to get a console.

Then check if the HD device is detected and how it is named:

# ls /sys/block/

What is the content of

# cat /sys/block/sd<X>/removable

Maybe it is marked as removable drive?

I can confirm the issue with the 2.6.18 based installer CD - we will fix it as soon as possible.

(in the meantime you can install from a 2.6.24 based CD, e.g. 1.4 and then upgrade to 1.5, also to 2.6.18)

Re: Proxmox VE 1.5 released

The new iso did the same thing... =/

@dietmar

Code:
#ls /sys/block
hdc ram0 ram10 ram12 ram14 ram2 ram4 ram6 ram8
ram1 ram11 ram13 ram15 ram3 ram5 ram7 ram9 sda sdb

Code:
#cat /sys/block/sd[ab]/removable

Re: Proxmox VE 1.5 released

Hi, I've made the upgrade, but two VM (W2K3) give me the blue screen of death at boot.
It's due to the virtio driver (HD) whose don't load...
It works only with IDE disks (bad, very bad).
Am I lonely with this issue ?

you had a running win2003 with virtio and now it does not boot?

  1. Output of 'pveversion -v'?
  2. which virtio drivers do you use? signed drivers?
  3. windows version? 32 or 64-bit?

thanks for feedback - but you should update to the latest version - decide what kernel branch do you want (see http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Proxmox_VE_Kernel)

if you want to stay with 2.6.24, pveversion should look like this (run 'apt-get install proxmox-ve-2.6.24' to get it)

Code:
pveversion -v
pve-manager: 1.5-5 (pve-manager/1.5/4627)
running kernel: 2.6.24-10-pve
proxmox-ve-2.6.24: 1.5-21
pve-kernel-2.6.24-10-pve: 2.6.24-21
pve-kernel-2.6.18-1-pve: 2.6.18-4
qemu-server: 1.1-11
pve-firmware: 1.0-3
libpve-storage-perl: 1.0-7
vncterm: 0.9-2
vzctl: 3.0.23-1pve5
vzdump: 1.2-5
vzprocps: 2.0.11-1dso2
vzquota: 3.0.11-1
pve-qemu-kvm: 0.11.1-1
