Hello,
I've been reading the forums for similar issues and seems that there were some similarities with some fixes, but somehow seems that the issue I have is different. Sorry if I'm raising a duplicate post.

I've done a full upgrade from v6 to v7 without any issues. After the upgrade, one VM with KVM started to freeze.

Error log:
Code:
Feb 04 11:56:54 homer pvestatd[16609]: VM 101 qmp command failed - VM 101 qmp command 'query-proxmox-support' failed - unable to connect to VM 101 qmp socket - timeout after 31 retries

Feb 04 11:57:15 homer pvestatd[16609]: status update time (6.230 seconds)

The VM 101 is a CentOS 7 KVM machine.
I've tried the workaround of setting the machine version to 5.1, without any improvements.
Async IO is set to native (I'm using a supermicro controller for HDD's)

Code:
~# pveversion -v | grep -E "proxmox-ve|kvm|backup-client"
proxmox-ve: 7.1-1 (running kernel: 5.13.19-4-pve)
proxmox-backup-client: 2.1.5-1
pve-qemu-kvm: 6.1.1-1

I'm am starting a snapshot backup for QM 101, other VM's are triggering the query-proxmox-support error and after a few minutes, the host restarted by itself. Without any backup activity, only QM 101 is freezing every few minutes.

Did anyone got the same experience and found a fix?

Thanks!

I have installed the kernel 5.15.17-1-pve and reverted the machine version to the latest to see if there is any improvement.

Seem stable for the last 24h, I think something was wrong with the kernel. Maybe this will help others.
