Hi

I installed the latest Proxmox 7.1 from the Installer CD. I do not have subscription.
I am getting the error when I do the updates .
E: Failed to fetch https://enterprise.proxmox.com/debian/pve/dists/bullseye/InRelease 401 Unauthorized [IP: 144.217.225.162 443]
E: The repository 'https://enterprise.proxmox.com/debian/pve bullseye InRelease' is not signed.
N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.
N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details.

So does that means unsubscribed users can not get updates ? I searched the forums but many answers and nothing worked for me .
This is not a production server but only a setup to understand proxmox . I also use proxmox to try other softwares like VDI .

So would it be possible to point me to correct resource for updating unsubscibed proxmox 7.1 server ?

Cheers

Rad

hi,

everyone gets updates here, the only difference with the subscription is the enterprise repository and ticket support :)

you will need to change your repository to pve-no-subscription [0]

yes sir

my source.list reads like this. To be sure I deleted and copied again and saved.

deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian bullseye main contrib
deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian bullseye-updates main contrib

# PVE pve-no-subscription repository provided by proxmox.com,
# NOT recommended for production use
deb http://download.proxmox.com/debian/pve bullseye pve-no-subscription

# security updates
deb http://security.debian.org/debian-security bullseye-security main contrib

but again I get the same results ... what am I doing wrong ?

root@pve:~# apt update
Hit:1 http://security.debian.org/debian-security bullseye-security InRelease
Hit:2 http://ftp.debian.org/debian bullseye InRelease
Get:3 http://download.proxmox.com/debian/pve bullseye InRelease [3,053 B]

you also need to remove/comment the snippet for the enterprise repository in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ directory and then it should work :)

EDIT: you could also use the web interface, go to Node -> Updates -> Repositories menu and you should be able to add/remove package repositories easily ;)
