Recap: We had a power outtage couple days ago, still the server booted right up and was working as usual. When I came home today the server was shut down and not running. It was weird to me but I just pressed the power button and it started up again. When I was trying to access the WebUI with the root user, as I usually do, it told me the credentials were wrong after loading for an unusual amount of time. Trying to login via ssh or the console was unsuccessful aswell. I only have the root user configured, unfortunately no other user is present.

The weird thing is that "most" of the lxc's are still accessible via ssh and a Windows VM is even accessible via Remotedesktop.

What I already did:

- Remove the Ram and try different combinations
- Remove a connected internal HDD, GPU and boot without it being connected
(Ethernet wasnt working after I did that (maybe the interface name changed and wasnt recognized, I dont know.)

Unfortunately I dont know which proxmox version I am running, must be 8.1 something.
In total I am running 5 lxc containers and one VM.

Thankyou in prior.
Greetings

The non-functioning network connection after the conversion is normal because adding or removing PCI devices changes the name (PCI path) of the network card.

It is best to reinstall the devices as originally.
When it has booted up, check whether the password is correct (enter it once for the user) sometimes a changed keyboard layout can cause this.
If this does not help, boot with a Linux Live CD and overwrite the root password. There are countless instructions for this on the Internet.
