Hi. I am trying to install Proxmox 8.2 on a system that has an NVidia GPU. However, it gets stuck on loading drivers. I have done some research and this is a common issue. The common solution seems to be to select nomodeset in advanced options. However, on mine this doesn't seem to be there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Will.

Hello @WTTG how to you installed the driver exactly and what Nvidia Card to you have. Nvidia K6000 is working very well here.

Have Quadro600 in HP Z420 and runs fine with pve/debian additional X installed buildin driver as the orig. driver don't support actual kernels nor the actual drivers support these old cards :)
So take care of nvidia version to K6000 and kernel otherwise run without special nvidia driver.

I haven't install the driver as I am trying to install Proxmox 8.2 to start with.

Thanks.

Did you try pve installation by cli (instead of graphical) instead also ?

I was able to reproduce the behavior with an bit older card here with Proxmox 7 and 8. Without removing the card, I cannot boot with it either.

Workaround: Remove the card and install PVE with the integrated graphics, then reinstall the card. At least that's how it worked here.

Thank you for taking the time to do that, it is much appreciated. The only slight hitch with that plan is the integrated graphics.
