Hello,

I have Proxmox 5 installed and I am running three nodes in production mode, I have Dell MD 3820 and I use it as LVM over ISCSI storage, but LVM does not have a snapshot option, so I am planing to build a new cluster with Proxmox 6.1 and I want the recommendation about the storage setup, can I use CEPH for example or what is the optimal solution for my case, what is the fast and reliable storage option to use with Dell storage

Thanks in advance

creating OSDs (the "disks" where Ceph stores its data) on a shared SAN is rather uncommon and you lose one of the big advantages of Ceph (any node can fail and your data is still available)

fast and reliable would be LVM,
should you need snapshots - you can consider creating a NFS-share or CIFS-share on the Dell - and use that to store qcow2 images

see our reference documentation on storages: https://pve.proxmox.com/pve-docs/chapter-pvesm.html

I hope this helps!
