Hello,

My Proxmox Host has the problem, that after start in a random time between 30 Minutes and 12 Hours it and its VMs aren't accessible anymore. HTTPS, SSH and even Ping won't work, but the Ethernet link is still active. Also, the lights, fans, and HDDs are still on.
I tried shutting down all VMs and services on the machine and even switching my network switch, all with no luck. It only works, when I press the power button shortly, let the host power down and then start it again, but it still wouldn't work indefinitely.

I am using an old Dell Workstation with 32 GB RAM and a 6 Core 3.5 GHz Intel Xeon CPU.
Installed is Proxmox Virtual Environment 8.4.5.

Attached is the System Log of the last two restarts at Aug 03 15:10:58 and Aug 03 19:50:34 as well as everything in between. The System was unaccessible since about 18:30. I removed a lot of the “Detected Hardware” blocks, because the file was too big for this post.

It's the e1000e bug

Code:
Aug 03 15:10:57 haug-pve01 kernel: e1000e 0000:00:19.0 enp0s25: Detected Hardware Unit Hang

currently the only solution is to disable hardware offloading for your nic - try this
