Proxmox - Remote VM Access Locally

Hi All,

I am still very new to all of this. I want to take my Windows 11 Machine and move it to my Proxmox server. Once done i want to be able to access it locally.

Yes i know i need to enable Remote Access BUT what i want to know is what hardware should i use as the middle man for this, a RPI or a Thin Client or ?

Since all the processing will be on the server do i need something with alot of CPU / RAM or will anything do.

RPI or a Thin Client or ?

Both will work, as well as any other laptop you've flying around or your mobile phone or tablet.

Or even better solution:
PCI passthrough a GPU + USB card into the Win VM and connect your display + mouse + keyboard to it. You then couls directly access the VM without any additional latency or compression artifacts.

If that is not possible it would also be possible to install a desktop environment on your PVE host so you can use the server as your client to remote into the VM.

I have looked over tons of guides but nothing is working on Windows 11 and Intel Intergrated IGPU.

I have an 12th Gen GPU

Not sure about 12th gen but there are tons of big threads about how PCI passsthrough Intel iGPUs.

Hi @Dunuin

Will PCI Passthrough work with an iGPU so i can use the HDMI, DisplayPort ? I know the KB & Mouse work i got that working.
