I installed Proxmox on a box with 4x intel 226 NICs.
ETH0 is the one I use as management port for Proxmox and is currently not visible pfSense VM
EHT1 is the WAN port.
ETH2 is the NSFW_LAN port having all IOT, Media players etc. devices
ETH3 is currently unused which I need for future expansion.
To separate my work PC critical devices I use 2 subnets. 192.168.0.1/24 as my Work/Management network and 192.168.1.1/24 as my NSFW_LAN network. The idea is now to make ETH0 also available in pfSense VM for the Work/Management LAN. Is that the easiest way to do it or are there issues I don't see? And if so how do I do it? Do I have to make vmbr0 available in pfSense VM rather than ETH0?
Alternatively I could tag ports to VLANs in the GS716T switch but I'd like to keep it as simple as possible and if I don't need VLANs...one thing less to worry about.
