Hello everyone, I still have an old Windows 2012 R2 Hyper-V (Core) server running, on which a few Windows machines are virtualized. Because Windows 2012 R2 does not support TPM, I cannot upgrade these machines to Windows 11. Therefore, my question: Does anyone have experience with an HP Proliant DL360P Gen8 and Proxmox? I know the server is a bit older, but I hope I can squeeze some more life out of it with Proxmox.

See Screenshot for technical data...

what cpu does your server have? proxmox can virtualize the tpm but if your cpu does not support the instructions that are required for windows 11 then it wont work (without some dirty hacks ...)

Yes, I can bypass the CPU, but not the TPM problem. My question is, does Proxmox recognize the CPU and can it handle it?

virtualizing windows 11 wont work on this hardware, the cpu is too old and wont support the needed instructions that windows 11 requires. (assuming you have an intel xeon E5-26xx v2 cpu)

you could use one of those registry hacks on the internet to get it working anyway but with the next update windows 11 most likely will stop working.

proxmox should be able to handle the cpu, you can always try to boot the installer iso to test general hardware compatibility.

We've installed Win 11 24H2 German in a VM on a E5-2680 v2 PVE without any hacks. And yes, those E5 Xeons are not in the CPU support list...
