Hi, I'm new to the forum and my first experience with Proxmox...
In the cellar I crammed an old HP Z800 workstation that I would like to bring back to "new life" with Proxmox. Currently, among other things, an Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 video card is installed that I would like to replace with two more recent and performing video cards (still to be chosen precisely and purchased), one Nvidia, to be dedicated to virtual machines with Windows 10/11 intended for gaming and an AMD to be used with virtual machines with Linux / macOS for other uses (content creation, software development, etc ...).
Of course, to do this, I would have to configure GPU Passthrough, is it possible to make this profect or are there limitations given by too obsolete hardware?
A UEFI machine is required (does the Z800 have a "legacy" BIOS)?
Any special tips or tricks?

Thank you for your help!

If you have all the hardware already, why not just try an install and see if it works to your satisfaction. The 1050 is a little older but should be strong enough to do some preliminary test to see if you get enough performance for gaming/content creation or if you are bottlenecked somewhere. See our wiki articles on pci passthrough [1][2] (newer articles are in the works). See also our documentation, which is very thorough [3].
Other communities and links I can share:
Nick Sherlock runs an excellent blog on MacOS VMs in Proxmox [4]
There is a reddit community dedicated to VM gaming [5]
And obviously, this forum ;)
