Hi,

I am about to install Proxmox on 2x R620 with 2xE52650V2 CPUs, 192GB ram, 3x2TB SATA 3 and 1x128GB SSD drive (I intend to run zfs raidz1 with the SSD drive as read cache). 2xX520 10G on each node.

I intend to set them up in a cluster, but not HA mode. I have searched some options as to how I could sync the datastores, and I believe I'll use zrep or drbd.

I will run a few high-end web/sql servers running Linux. These already run on a Proxmox env. so I am not too worried about these.

What I worry about is running two critical virtual instances of edge routers (either quagga on linux, or openbgpd with openbsd). I really want to go the bsd way, but I've noticed that my BSD virtual machines on proxmox sometimes become unresponsive and the only way to interact with them is to simply power them off (and it seems to take like 2 minutes before they get powered off, then restart them and they work fine, I see nothing in any logs anywhere).

Are there any performance issues with BSD on Proxmox?

Thanks,
Ragnar
