Hello, I use PVE 8 it works like a charm but when I need to reboot my machines is get stuck on startup telling me to select the boot drive. By the way I have an AMD 1700x.

I shall enter the bios and select the installation drive, then PVE will boot.

I noticed this when I connect my NTFS drive.

What's the prompt like? That's likely your EFI asking. And then it takes it from there to either GRUB or whatever else was selected.

When you add external drive, it might resort boot-order.... There should be a setting in your BIOS to disable this.... it is for good reason that this happens when you add an USB-Drive which has a boot block.....
