Very new to ProxMox and I'm really enjoying it.

Got my very first install done, single node, just playing around, got some vms setup, one of them Ubuntu server with Docker running a PiHole container.

Everything is working great.

I updated the node's hostname from "pm1" to "proxmox01.mynet.local" also updated the node's name server to use to the PiHole DNS running on the VM.

Rebooted and now nothing is loading. SSH'd into the node and tried doing all the articles about changing the hostname but can't get it to boot back up.

Just found out how to look at the logs, looks like this is the issue

"proxmox01 pmxcfs[983]: [main] crit: Unable to get local IP address"

Renaming a Proxmox node is much more involved and it might be easier to reinstall. There is a long thread somewhere on the forum about renaming a Proxmox host.

Thanks leesteken. Not a big deal, I figured I'd reinstall it a few times anyway to get the hang of it. Just figured I'd try to troubleshoot this to understand the system better.
I did read a ton of those threads today and realized it's not something that should be done lightly. It's odd the UI allows you to do this without warnings... at least none that I paid attention to :D

I was able to get it to load the UI again at least. I had a mismatch in spelling between hosts and hostname. Now I'll work on moving over my VMs if possible
