Hi,

We are running a 4-node cluster. All of the nodes are getting monitored through CheckMK NMS. The last time synchronization for the nodes are as followed:

Node 1: 1660374051660.png ... Last sync: 7 min 38 sec ago

Node 2: 1660374093853.png ... Last sync: 1 hour 10 min ago

Node 3: 1660374130643.png ... Last sync: 33 min 43 sec ago

Node 4: 1660374167709.png ... Last sync: 4 hour 59 min ago

Why is so difference in Time syncronization frequency for all the nodes? All the nodes have been configured to sync with public NTP server with 'Chrony' service.

Also please let me know what is the frequency of synchronizing time with public NTP server?

Thanks,
Biswajit Sinha

Each clock ticks different, so you only synchronize the time if the time is too different, and that can be seen here.

I have never seen that someone monitors the age of the time synchronization, I don't get what that information gets you besides writing in the forums. Your Node 4 is the best at timekeeping, so its clock is maybe better than the others, so you get a warning, that you got a good clock?

Normally, you would monitor the offset and warn if that is out of a specified range.
