Hi,
i've had a failed disk again today which resulted in a degraded zfs pool. I did not get a notification from proxmox about this degraded event. I've done all what I could to get email notification:
Any ideas what i am doing wrong?

Hi,

what does the file /var/log/mail.info show?

EDIT: and the journal/syslog?

Thank you, that was a good call:

But well... I need to look now why the mail get's rejected...

Soo seems like the smtp server is telling postfix that the mail could not be delivered because it contains too many mime types (attachments) It also attaches the original message. The postifx in return want's to notify me about this incident and instantly sends a new mail while attaching the mail history. And then it starts all over again.

The underlying problem was that for an unknown reason i was able to send test mails and cron run logs but some messages where filtered because I sent unauthenticated mails:
Code:
The IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx has been identified as not meeting PBL's policy for IP addresses permitted to deliver unauthenticated 'direct-to-mx' email.

I've now configured proxmox to not use postfix anymore but send mails authenticated direct to the smtp server instead and disabled postfix. Does this have any negative implications (e.g. some mails still going to postfix only)?
