Proxmox Metric Server: InfluxDB 1 versus 2?

There is good howto from Jonas Sterr on how to setup InfluxDB as a metric server for Proxmox VE.

It mentions InfluxDB 2. However, on download page for Influx DB it is stated:

If you plan on upgrading to InfluxDB v3, we recommend starting with InfluxDB v1 to ease the migration process.

I wonder what best practice would be here. While the communication from InfluxDB people does not appear to be consistent as well, cause their documentation pages for InfluxDB 1 recommend using InfluxDB 2, I wonder what the possible migration issues from Influx DB 2 => 3 might be.

I also wonder whether the dashboard mentioned in the howto would work with InfluxDB 1. According to the documentation InfluxDB 1 can do Flux. It might not have a web UI, but I bet an access token can be obtained by CLI as well.

Before I invest more time into researching the most future proof solution, I'd like to ask whether someone looked at this topic recently and has any insight to share.

Use Influx v1 or v2 ,usually it depends on pre-built dashboard on grafana. v3 is lets say opensource, but cripppled, so we are waiting for influx v1 or v2 fork in the future.
