I hear this stack setup being mentioned over and over, but not much information about how to get there.
I've got Proxmox on baremetal and reconfiguring my spinning drives now (currently wiped) and ready to configure.
My ideal stack is:
Proxmox
-Truenas (for sharing media and doing backups)
-LXC (privilaged containers) to share storage with docker. (Example: Jellyfin)
- LXC (unprivilaged containers) to share docker apps through a reverse proxy (Example: Nextcloud)
My current server has 1x1TB SSD for boots and 1x 14TB spinning rust but I plan to add another in the near future, and that's why MergerFS sounds so attractive to be able to expand with ease. I'm guessing the snapraid backups are done through Truenas or possibly through proxmox on the LXC/VM containers?
Please help me understand if my approach is in the right direction or I need to shift something around. Also any sources on to help correctly setup my pool from the beginning would be grateful! I'm unsure if I should just initialize in proxmox or then shift it over to truenas?
Thanks for your help!
