Every time I try to run a virtual server I get the following error and lose my connection to Proxmox (it completely locks up). I don't have much more information than that.
Code:
kvm: 1614: cpu0 unhandled rdmsr: 0xc0010001

System Specs:

OS: Proxmox v2.3-13/7946f1f1
CPU: AMD A10-5700
RAM: 8GB
Motherboard: msi FM2-A55M-E33

I have two NIC's (the built in one to the motherboard and a PCI-E x1 NIC). Only the NIC built into the motherboard is currently used.

In the past I have used Proxmox with the same CPU and RAM without issue. However, the motherboard died so I had to replace it. This is a new Proxmox installation however.

The only NICs i know that has almost close to no issue is Intel NICs. So far i have not came across any Intel NIC that did not work out of the box. Beside the driver issue of Realtek, they also have less bandwidth although they are advertised as Gigabit. Intel cards(desktop ones) do not cost that much but well worth to have a stable system, test or not.

total agree with you, I never had problem with intel cards since last 10 years :)
