Proxmox locking up?

At times the system will hang on the initial ramdisk and other times after a few retires I can get it to the welcome screen. At what point the system lock up. There has been times when it took a bit longer to lock up and I was able to log into the console only for it to lock up soon afterwards. It gives a IP address for the GUI but that address doesn't work and I am unable to ping the system.

Recovery mode sometimes also hangs on the initial ramdisk as well. Other times it goes to the "Give root password for maintenance" then frozen again. Ones I was able to input the password for the root account but frozen soon afterwards.


I disconnected all of the storage other then the m.2 what is where the OS is saved on.
I removed all but one ram card and tried each one. One time it got to the welcome screen and seem to be working the GUI didnt come up but after a few sec the system crashed and did a reboot. Then locked up again after the initial ramdisk.

I am at a lost as what to do. As everything seems to just lock up soon afterwards.

the system seem to have locked up as the keyboard no longer worked but after some time rcu came up. Seem to be something with the CPU timer?

Talking with chatGPT. Found out I wasn't able to boot into live usb ubuntu as that would lock up also. ChatGPT said to try maxcpus=1. After doing that, i was able to get into ubuntu and was also able to get proxmox up and running with the same setting.

Seems to be a hardware problem on my end. As would make a bit of sense as the system was turned off due to a power outage maybe something got damage.
