I want to delete the one labeled "local without messing up the "Local-Storage". Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

David

Hi,
this is currently not possible: https://bugzilla.proxmox.com/show_bug.cgi?id=4365, but you can try and disable it.

Also, are you sure setting shared on your storages is correct? That flag is for:
Indicate that this is a single storage with the same contents on all nodes (or all listed in the nodes option). It will not make the contents of a local storage automatically accessible to other nodes, it just marks an already shared storage as such!

Thanks for your quick answer. What is the best way to "Hide" (disable) it?
If you disable it, then it won't show up in the drop-downs and side-bar in the UI anymore.

dir: local
path /var/lib/vz

dir: Local-Storage
path /var/lib/vz

Another question. Can I remove both the "local" and "Local-Storage"? Will I be able to reuse the disk space for something else then?

Again, the local storage cannot be completely removed, see the bug report from my first response. You can move all contents to another storage if you want to free up the space used there. Then remove the Local-Storage and disable the local storage.

Yes it is. I found out the hard way :-)

I am learning. I will soon be wiping the whole thing out and starting over.

Using a HP DL580 G7 for Proxmox and a DL380p for storage with TrueNAS Scale.
