Hey folks,
I just want to make sure I completely understand this before I start hooking my dev Proxmox cluster up to my production SAN switch and production SAN. I have read through the documentation over at https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/ISCSI_Multipath and I think I understand the procedure, but I need to be sure. My current SAN is currently being used solely by our VMWare 7 cluster. There are a number of volumes (maybe 12) that are all formatted with VMFS. My plan is just to create a new volume on the SAN that will be used for Proxmox and whitelist that WWID in the multipath conf file. I want to avoid screwing up any of the pre-existing VMWare volumes.

And what about the vendor specific configuration? What do I need to use for my Dell SC5020 in the multipath config?

Thanks,
Stan

Can you configure on the SAN which clients should get to see which volumes? This should put your mind at ease :)

Getting multipathing to work correctly can take a bit of tinkering. Regarding vendor specific configurations you'll need to check the docs for your storage. A lot of times, there is a sample multipath configuration or they have a section on how to configure it for Linux and that storage.
