Hi All
I installed the proxmox-ve_7.1-2 but the machine seems not being connected to the WLAN, and therefore (I guess) I'm not able to connect through a web browser.
what I find pretty strange is also that a simple ls in the machine, displays no folder. Is this normal?
I'm currently stuck, and wondering what I should do,
Do you have any suggestion?
Really many thanks for any feedback,
Wish you all a nice day

V "the noob" :D

PVE got no Wifi support out of the box because in general you don't want to use Wifi on a server. Especially on a hypervisor because most wifi chipsets just don't offer the required features needed for running multiple guests over it. And ethernet is also always prefered because it is more reliable, got a lower latency and most likely also a higher bandwidth.
If you want a desktop environment and wlan support without booting from ZFS you could install a Debian 11 with PVE ontop: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Install_Proxmox_VE_on_Debian_11_Bullseye

And you might need to use a routed/NAT network configuration like described here: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/WLAN

I really would recommend to only use ethernet if that is possible. Way less frustrating and easier to setup, even if you need to buy a new NIC for that.

Dear Dunuin,
Thanks a lot for your quick reply.
I connected the Server to the Ethernet but I still face the same issue.
Tried to reinstall everything again, i also checked the port 8006 of the router but the situation did not change :(

Hey,

checked the port 8006 of the router
what do you mean by that? You have to use the IP your PVE has in your network, not the one of your router. It should be shown after you start the server and during the installation. And make sure you have https:// at the start of the URL(not just http://).

I assume you have a display and keyboard connected to the PVE server, could you post the output of ip a and cat /etc/network/interfaces?

Dear Hannes
Many many thanks for helping!
I attached here what you were asking..
Hope you can help me find out what I did wrong..

You kept the default IP 192.168.100.2/24 for your Proxmox VE when installing it and you can only access the webUI when you are in the same subnet. So your client with the webbrowser would need to use a IP between 192.168.100.1 and 192.168.100.254. And you also kept 192.168.100.1 as the gateway. If your router isn't 192.168.100.1 you won't be able to go online. Easiest would be to install Proxmox VE again but then using a free IP of your routers subnet and using your routers IP as the gateway and DNS server.
