Proxmox install flash

Experts,
Tell me proxmox is installed on usb flash + 2 lvm raid1. When importing a vm, other active VMs start to freeze, in other words, they become unavailable. There is no CPU download of anything. Is this due to the fact that proxmox is installed on usb flash or is the problem something else?

Rotating Disks are very slow and if they get a bunch of data, they get problems to keep up with the IOPS.
This can lead to "hanging" VMs. You can limit the Bandwidth in Options to keep things smooth....

Tried on ssd-raid did not help.
Unavailability persists.

Just to be sure...with "usb flash" you mean a real USB SSD and not a USB pen drive or some other kind of cheap flash storage like MicroSDs, eMMC and so on? Because the latter would be bad.

That's what I am also guessing. Normal USB pen does not work well with PVE ....

Replace this with a real Disk and problems should be go away. An USB-Stick is really not a good OS-Disk for Proxmox....

Replaced the USB pen drive with PCIe + m2.ssd did not solve the situation in any way, other machines are freezing.

Can the Discard option help, I read somewhere that it is enabled and "helps"?

Did you already try importing the VMs from the SSDs to the SSDs; skipping the HDDs completely?

Because not all disks are suitable for raid. There exist WD Reds using shingled magnetic recording (SMR) and SMR shouldn' be used in raid. It can become that slow and unresponsive, that you get I/O errors because the raid controller thinks the disks are dead because they are too slow to answer in time, after the CMR write cache gets full.
