Proxmox Install fail (AMD Athlon X4 - 620 and ASUS-M4A785TD-M)

Dear All,

My Proxmox VE 1.4 install fails - after i hit enter on the boot option - just goes to a blank screen.

I have the following setup

CPU - AMD Athlon X4 - 620 Quad Code, 2.6Ghz, 2MB cache
Motherboard- ASUS-M4A785TD-M EVO
RAM Gskill - DDR3-1333 - 4GB
HD Westren Digital WD10EADS Caviar green 1TB

No Raid

So far I have tired another video card but no result.
Please help. Thanks.

start the installation with 'debug' - any logs? (do not forget to type 'ctrl-d' to continue)
 
Dear Tom,

Thanks for the reply. I tried the bebug command but same result (ie blank screen)

When I entered the debug command the message was as noted below:

loading linux26...........
loading Initrd.img .......................
then blank screen

tried pressing control+D - but no result. I also tried typing crtl-d - same result.

Any other suggestion please? Thanks
 
I also tried installing version 1.1 (after reading this in this forum somewhere) it does boot and install the process up to the point it attempts to partition the harddisk - And it fails. error - can not partition the harddrive.

Alt + F2 does not display any error log as it suggests.

Still I can not install proxmox
 
Pressing Alt+F2 does not do anything. Only reboot option is available and once you hit the reboot button the system reboots...
 
Thanks all for your support. As my setup did not work, I am going to return this hardware. Instead I am planning to buy Intel CPU Quad Core with a motherboard based on a recommendation.
