hi, I need some help, after a power failure, Proxmox 8 doesn't start and the grub screen appears. what can I do to solve it? I could easily reinstall everything, but I prefer to learn how to solve the problems if it happens again.
Thanks for your suggestions

From my experience, if you encounter any strange, unexplainable problems (like all config files are intact but network manager won't start) after a power loss or forces server restart, the first course of action should be a reinstall/restore from backup.

Usually this is because something wrong with the file system and even if you can locate all missing/broken files, you still need to restore them from backup so why bother, just do a full reinstall/backup restore.

Oh and sounds like you can use some SSDs with power failure protection or an UPS.

ok, I have a bck of all the vms, but not of proxmox with the settings, how can I export them and then import them so as not to have to restore the entire configuration?
and in the meantime after I have restored everything, how can I create an automatic external backup -out of the nat( ex cloud) - of the proxmox configurations so that if it happens again the restoration process will be faster?

thank you all for the support, in the end I couldn't do it, the HD was damaged and I installed everything again.
do you have any idea if there is a version of proxmox that allows you to make back-ups of the PVE or solutions that do it? because the bck solutions proposed are cumbersome and must be carried out by people with a minimum of Linux knowledge (I have no problems but if I have to explain them to someone else..), something different for the bck restore of the VMs that anyone can do independently.

It's currently on the road map to make use of PBS to backup the host's configuration files and settings.

For now you have to use the scripts via cron jobs.
This has been discussed so many times on this forum.

See here for example.
