Hello together,
the proxmox-backup-client is also able to backup a standalone host. In our case we decided to move physical host backups to PBS. To make backup easier I wrote a backup script which collect all mount points and creates a backup for each.
This script can be triggered by cron or systemd timer. The Readme also includes a description how extract the static linked backup client to your system
