Proxmox gradually takes all the RAM

There are many topics with high RAM consumption.

There are many posts by people who don't understand how Linux uses memory. There are only a few posts that seem to be about memory leaks.

Thanks for the help. Of course, we want a more predictable result from computers, but it turns out the opposite.
I have attached the information.

Today, the memory consumption is as follows RAM usage 15.46% (4.72 GiB of 30.52 GiB). Only one virtual machine is running. No actions are performed on it. Also, nothing is being done on the hypervisor itself. Compared to the latest version, in this version of proxmox 7.4-3, memory leakage occurs in a very slow mode.

Hi Everyone,

3 host cluster, unfortunately having the same issue with 1 host that has 128GB of RAM. 3 VMs that after a reboot only take up about half the ram, slowly the Arc grows too much.

Any support would be greatly appreciated.

That is normal. Please read the documentation.

Unfortunately my install isn't behaving as expected. I will manually set the max setting, which I notice is missing.

The max setting was automatically half your total memory and that fits your description. In newer setups, this is more restricted.

I was under the impression that this node was install at 8.x but maybe it wasn't .. explaining its behavior. Anyway, config working now based on Max setting in the docs..
