PVE Version 8.4.1
VM in Question - Debian 12 with QEMU-Guest-Agent installed and running as shown via systemctl status qemu-guest-agent

When backing up, I get this error in the log:

INFO: skipping guest-agent 'fs-freeze', agent configured but not running?

However, running this command from the host manually to the VM works as expected:

qm agent 101 fsfreeze-freeze or qm agent 101 fsfreeze-thaw

It appears for some reason, like it is not adding the -freeze or -thaw and in turn, generating that error.

Is my understanding correct, how do I resolve this?

Thanks

Can you please share the backup log and pictures of the VM's Options and Summary tabs?

Hi,
also, what kind of backup mode are you using? For suspend mode for VMs, it's known to be broken, you should always prefer snapshot mode for VMs.

Oh... I wasn't aware of that... it was indeed set to suspend. I'll change it to snapshot and see if the error persists.

If it does, I'll provide the requested images also @Impact

Thanks
