Hi all! Trying to install proxmox to Supermicro server with usb stick installed inside, i can see the USB in BIOS, and before there was a Esxi Installation past 2 years and it worked like a charm ... now the proxmox installation doesn't see the USB stick to install onto.

proxmox is not designed to run off a usb stick (it will wear out quickly), please install to a normal disk/ssd

it means that there is no way to do that ? im trying to move from esxi to proxmox but it is important to me to use exactly USB as the root disk, other slots used for backup datastore ..

ive heard that there is a way to install basic Debian and afterwards install proxmox from packets. Is that a norm solution ?

Do not install on a USB drive, this will cause a lot of issues.
