Proxmox does not poweroff host after shutdown, possible ACPI issue?

Hey folks,
I just installed PVE 8.0.3 on a Fujitsu Esprimo G5010 (D3804) Mini PC for a homelab setup. So far, everything is working fine, except I cant fully shutdown the node.
If I issue the shutdown command (no difference if done via GUI oder CLI and also no difference if a VM is gracefully shutted down or no VM is running before), the host initiates the shutdown, but doens't power off the hardware. I have to plug out and in the powercable before I can boot the host again.
I tried via CLI different commands (shutdown -h now, shutdown -h -P now, systemctl poweroff, poweroff now, etc pp), all with the same result.
I did a BIOS Upgrade to the most recent version (R 1.42.0), same issue.

I found the following errors while booting in the syslog, perpahs this might be related?


Can anyone help with an idea, how I can fully shutdown the system?

I have the same machine and I’m having the same issue.
Unfortunately I don’t have much more to add other than I haven’t updated the BIOS yet and I have the very same messages in the logs

Do you use PVE 8 or version 7?

I’m afraid I only noticed the issue with Proxmox VE 8 but I cannot tell for sure. I had Proxmox VE 7 installed for a few days but my use case is to leave the computer on 24/7, so I cannot really tell.

I am still interested in knowing more because I had to tweak a couple boot parameters related to power management to have a more stable system.
I’ll leave them here in case you find them useful:
- r8168.aspm=0 (after installing and enabling the r8168 driver for the network adapter). This solves issues I had with network dropping when I disconnect the keyboard or boot without any keyboard at all.
- usbcore.autosuspend=-1. This solved an issue where I saw a huge number of interrupts (and high power consumption) if keep something plugged in an usb port, just to use the power without interacting at all with the system.
 
I am having the same problem on an Acer Nitro AN515-51 that I use for my homelab with Proxmox.

During long time using Proxmox v7 this issue never happened.

After install Proxmox v8 from scratch I also cannot have the host to turn off. Some message error appears for 1 or two seconds, could not read, will try to get the text and later post here.
