Hi

I was given to the understanding that Linux containers are ephemeral. Hence the need for a container orchestration engine like Kubernetes to replace containers that died.

When Proxmox runs a Linux container, does it have Kubernetes like powers to replace a Linux container that dies?

Would appreciate any help in wrapping my head around how Proxmox makes ephemeral Linux containers reliable.

Thanks in advance!

Containers in Proxmox which are LXC and not "Docker Containers" do not die. The goal is different, LXC containers focus on OS containerization while docker containers focus on application containerization. In fact, they do not have ENTRYPOINTS or CMD. From my experience, you can manage the Proxmox containers as you would manage a VM even though they are still containers.

If the main service die in the proxmox container you'll have to restart it by hand, the container will still be running.
