Proxmox Cluster with 3 different servers?

Good morning, everyone.

I would like to know if it is possible to install Proxmox and create a cluster with 3 different servers or if it is necessary that all servers have the same characteristics.

My architecture plan is to create a cluster of 3 servers to virtualize and 1 server to install Proxmox Backup. All servers have different ram and disk capacity, as well as different processors.

Also, in case the answer is yes, I would like to know if it would be possible to add hyperconvergence to the cluster with Ceph.

Thank you very much.

Thank you very much.

I am getting into Proxmox and I have a lot of doubts while reviewing different documentation.

From an optimization point of view, is it better to have two clustered hosts and one machine for Proxmox backup without Ceph or a cluster of 3 machines with Ceph with VCPU limitation?

Thank you very much for your help.

A cluster should always have an odd number of machines to get a quorum. With an even number of compute nodes you need an additional qdevice. This could be installed in the Proxmox backup server (PBS).
Ceph needs an odd number of MONs (three or five) and at least three independent storage nodes.
