Hi,

I will have to setup a new proxmox cluster with 5 nodes.
3 nodes for virtual server hosting, and 2 nodes for hosting access

I want to share a bridge between the 5 nodes, and i use GRE tunnel between openvswitch bridges.

I want to make a mesh network, using stp on shared bridge to avoid loop.

The problem, is that stp is slow when the network topology changes, and it 's not possible to loose connectivities with hosted virtual servers. I think a pretty solution would be rstp, but i see on differents forums that there are some kernel panics with stocks kernels.

Any idea ?

Kind regards

I'd suggest you buy a switch.

I know that sounds like an arrogant/smart-alek "suggestion" but running a full mesh of 5 nodes is complex and asking for trouble. You sound as though you are very concerned about downtime (e.g., 'it's not possible to loose connectivities...") but your proposed config is going to be error prone and troublesome.
