Hello,

I have tried to setup a cluster with proxmox (pve-manager/1.4/4403) and it has failed. Error I get is localhost:50000 connection failed (or something like that) on master server.

I have one setup on a public internet IP(master), and the other is behind a router with a private IP(node). Both use the same version mentioned above.

So I have a few questions. 1 can I use a domain name like something.place.com instead of an IP for clustering? and can you add a node to the master when the node is behind a router? If I can do i need to forward ports? and what ports are they?

Thanks,

Proxmox VE cluster nodes need to run in the same network.

I successfully setup cluster with two machines being on separate networks, all they need is port tcp/22(ssh) for communications. Its not good idea though, they need allot of bandwidth.

Thanks,

All I really want to do is transfer a snapshot backup to another computer and to the other proxmox in case the first goes down. I was gona just do a ftp put from the master to my ftp server. Is there a easier way to access the backups?
