I have a TRX40 (Zenith II Extreme Alpha) and 3970X, 3060Ti (gaming) Quadro 620, heaps of 980 NVMes (both in built-in slots and through hyper M.2 cards).

I was able to create a Windows and a Linux VM, passthrough a single GPU to each, both installed on a passed through NVMe PCIe adapter (rather than virtio disk).

My question about capabilities of proxmox:
1. Is it possible to create a software RAID 0 array(say ZFS) on a couple of spare 980 Pro NVMe's and pass through the pool "as is" to windows VM to be say a gaming drive formated as NTFS? The reason i am trying to achieve this because AMD's RAIDXpert2 currently failed me on NVMe (SATA works fine). I have tried creating a virtual disk stored on a 4x NVME ZFS raid 0, but the performance is less than the boot drive (which is NVMe PCIe passthrough).

2. Is it possible to hot-plug usb ports? If yes, is it possible to say capture keystrokes by pve and on specific key combination, unplug keyboard and mouse and plug it into some other VM (i.e. virtual KVM).

3. Is it possible to use an external usb disk as a pve storage such that it includes iso images to install OS's ?

That won't work. If you want to passthrough a raid array you need HW raid. Or you need to passthrough the individual drives and use SW raid inside the guest to create a array.

You could use software like InputRedirector if you want to use the same keyboard/mouse for several VMs. That way you don't need to physically change any USB connections.

You can do that.
