Proxmox can't restore from backup and deleted the LXC I was trying to restore

I had an LXC that I needed to restore from backup. I understand that the existing data needs to be erased to be restored from backup but I did not expect it to fail and completely nuke the LXC in the process. While restoring I got the error "TASK ERROR: unable to restore CT 122 - unsupported debian version '13.4'" I'm guessing this is because I'm on Proxmox 8 still. However I would expect a cursory scan of the backup to see if it's even able to restore before nuking my current data, I had snapshots an other options to restore but those seem to all be gone now and I'm guessing there is no way to restore or even recover the conf file to have some starting point? Any guidance would be helpful or am I basically SOL at this point?

Was able to resolve using pct restore. Seems the UI was doing a check on the debian version that was seemingly unnecessary.
