Hey!
I've been struggling on this problem for a couple of weeks now. My whole server becomes unresponsive and freezes (web becomes unreachable, not being able to ssh into server or any of containers) after a huge spike in IO delay. This is only fixed by me doing a hard reset on the server. Also, all the fans on the server spins at max speed when this happen.
This problem started only after I created a minecraft server on a container, though I believe this is the problem, I'm not too sure why it completely crashes the server as I believe that I should have enough resources to run it. It did not occur when I didn't have the server up.
When this happens, I usually have a few containers open. These are a samba container (1 core, 256mb ram), discord bot container (1 core, 128mb ram), pihole (1 core, 256mb ram), dynamic dns script container (1 core, 128mb ram), and another discord bot container (1 core, 128mb ram), as well as the minecraft server container (used to be 2 cores but now 1 core and it still froze the server, 8gb ram).
I also use non-ecc ram, though I don't think this will affect anything. I did already memtest it, and no errors came up (though only 1 pass). This server is only about 2 years old.
Sorry if I sound really stupid but I'm just trying to get some clarification on why the minecraft server (probably) would crash the entire server. Thanks!
