Proxmox Backup Server - backup runs ok, restoration destroys VMs

Funny thing, the VM was shut down. Started it and now the back-up works... what is going on here?

ERROR: VM 611 qmp command 'query-pbs-bitmap-info' failed - got timeout

so for some reason this command timed out, but the log does not hint how that could happened..
it should not be source of the original missing chunks errors because this:

Apr 09 17:55:05 big-bk proxmox-backup-proxy[1268]: removing unfinished backup
Apr 09 17:55:05 big-bk proxmox-backup-proxy[1268]: removing backup snapshot "/rpool/totem-vm/vm/611/2022-04-09T14:54:55Z"

shows that pbs will remove the unfinished backups anyway (also since it aborted before any chunks could be sent/uploaded there would not be any chunks referenced in the backup yet)

And how can you restore the lost VMID or did you ignore the VMID restore failed??
