Hello everyone,

Do you know if it make sense to perform hypervisor backup on a 6 nodes cluster ?
My question is that potentially we could backup corosync config and during the restore could cause issue with the running cluster. So in that case, does it make sense and are there some guidance about backups of proxmox nodes.

In the context of a 6 nodes cluster with iSCSI/LVM

Thank you for your help

Hi @baalkor , more backups is always better than less.

Imagine a situation where your 6-node cluster is in one rack, but the iSCSI storage device is in another. If the datacenter floor collapses and the compute rack is destroyed, your user/VM data on storage will still be intact.

In that scenario, recovery will be much easier if you have a backup of /etc/pve (which contains storage configurations, VM definitions, and LXC configs).
