proxmox-backup-client on debian bullseye / bookworm

Hi,

I'd like to test the new option

--change-detection-mode=metadata

which seems to be introduced in Version 3.2.5.

In the bookworm repository there is only Version 3.2.7 available which should work, but on bullseye there is only the 2.x branch available.

Before I try to compile it myself, are there any a lot of non solvable dependencies, I'd like to know if there is a reason for that in the first place.

Hi,
since this is a new feature, and the build environment and source code changed a lot since the last 2.x release, there is no plan to backport this to to Debian Bullseye.

You could however test the statically linked binary, see https://bugzilla.proxmox.com/show_bug.cgi?id=4788#c12
