Hello,

I have a question.

I want to install a new HP Proliant DL360 Gen9 with iternel 4 x 14TB HDD drives for backup.

So I want to backup the proxmox cluster servers on it.

The server has 40 cores and 64GB of memory may not all need for the backup server.

What would you do to install the physical server directly on Proxmox Backup or install PVE on the cluster and then virtual proxmox backup? what's best?

i have the same question myself with a dl380 gen 9 12 LFF. just using it for backup looks like a waste of resources. right now i have installed pbs and do some others internal ops to use it as a NAS when i need cold storage for vms. As a xold storage endooint i was also thinking to add some virtualization to it for some specific uses.

At some point i am wondering if it shouldn.t be first a NAS and then install a virtualized PBS . Or just do virtualization for all,
