Proxmox (as a company) - what the HELL are you doing? Kernel update to 7 broke networking IN A VM

Sorry, I missed something, has someone actually had problems with the interfaces being renamed when upgrading kernel from 6.x to 7.0, when using predictable interface names?

If so, what were the interface names in 6.x and 7.0, and the NIC drivers used?

(Edit: about predictable interface names: https://systemd.io/PREDICTABLE_INTERFACE_NAMES/)
well, it seems like half of the thread is about this issue, isn't it? It started with complaint that kernel got updated and network connectivity was lost as interfaces were renamed. Previously users encountered this issue during pve 7 -> 8 upgrade, afair, that's why this fancy proxmox-network-interface-pinning was invented.
When they (I mean whoever came up with this feature, not proxmox team) were selling those predictable names, they told us 'you can even replace a nic with one from different vendor and the name will remain the same as long as it plugged into the same slot'. Now the situation: HW remains the same, but names keep changing

I still don't see any specifics about renaming of interfaces happening in this thread, there is just hinting that it could be the reason why someone had issues.

Can you help us finding out some more facts about the issue you mention? Like what were the interface names in 6.x and 7.0, and the NIC drivers used?
