Hello Guru's,

I use the Solaris OS on a number of Proxmox VM's using the built in server type provided by Proxmox for this operating system but I can't find where to download the corresponding virtio drivers and QEMU agent for it, can anyone advise if these are available to download from anywhere please? It would be very useful to have these installed for both performance and to be able to cleanly shut the OS's down when I run overnight scheduled backup jobs to my PBS box using the shutdown method,

Many thanks,

John

Hi,

Just in case this is useful to anyone I managed to find a version of the virtio storage driver for Solaris 10.

I was able to find the ISO for use during installation and was able to download it and follow the instructions from the achive on web.archive.org:

https://web.archive.org/web/20171019173648/http://zaytsev.su/solaris-virtio/

Hope this may be useful to someone - probably me when I'm trying to do this again in a few years!

Cheers,

John

I wonder what use case you have in mind with an x86-based Solaris installation. Could you please elaborate on this?
I tried it years ago for fun, but there was not much software around that was certified for x86-based Solaris.
