Hi,

we are planning to create a Proxmox cluster (8 nodes) for computing and use a native (original) Ceph cluster (Octopus always update to the last version) installed on Debian Buster. Now I have some questions:
  1. For Ceph "client" which repository should I use? The original proxomox repository or the repository of Ceph ( deb https://download.ceph.com/debian-octopus/ {codename} main ) ?
  2. How can I configure the storage in Proxmox cluster and access to ceph cluster?
  3. When I will update Proxmox cluster, could I have some problems?
Thank you very much

We can only support our ceph packages. A pveceph install will take care of installing the Ceph packages from our repository.

How can I configure the storage in Proxmox cluster and access to ceph cluster?

What do you mean by that?

The question is: can I use the ceph native repository? is it will works?

If I will use ceph native repository, when I will update Proxmox, could I have some problems?

You could but we don't support it. This means, the first thing we tell you is to install our packages. ;)
And our packages are almost similar upstream, mostly some cherry-picks that didn't make the cut.

If I will use ceph native repository, when I will update Proxmox, could I have some problems?
As with any software upgrade. :)
